Writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson spun cinematic dross into gold with his acclaimed, disco-filled chronicle of the adult film industry's rise and decline in the late '70s and early '80s. Mark Wahlberg is well-endowed busboy-turned-screen superstud "Dirk Diggler," who becomes part of a close-knit Southern California family of performers and filmmakers that includes auteur-minded director Burt Reynolds, leading lady Julianne Moore, and starlet Heather Graham.
